Hi, I'm Ruben van der Leun, a full-stack Web developer with a passion for WebXR, self-hosting, and small LLMs. While I've been away from social media overall, I've wanted to interact more, and Bear Blog seems like the perfect place for me. Expect posts about these topics, but I'm also hoping to post about some other interests as well.
I've never really gotten far with writing blogs, mostly due to overthinking what I was going to write. To help with this, my aim is to write down my posts on a Remarkable Go. Generally, they will be more like written letters and streams of consciousness rather than well-thought-out posts. But given how supportive the community seems to be, I think that's okay.
The posts will be transcribed from my handwritten notes using software from Remarkable, cleaned up with a local gemma4:e4b model, and then manually edited. I'll also include the original handwritten notes.
